Laplace is a small town located in St. John the Baptist Parish, Louisiana, United States. It is situated on the west bank of the Mississippi River, about 25 miles (40 km) west of New Orleans. The population was 8,407 at the 2010 census.

The town was founded in 1883 by Charles Laplace, a French-Canadian immigrant who named it after his hometown of La Place, France. It has since grown to become a thriving community with a strong sense of pride and identity.

The town is known for its annual Mardi Gras celebration and its proximity to Lake Pontchartrain and other nearby attractions such as Six Flags New Orleans and the Audubon Zoo. Laplace also has several parks and recreational areas including LaPlace Park, which features a playground, picnic area, walking trails, and more.
