Somerset, Kentucky is a small city located in Pulaski County, Kentucky. It is the county seat and the largest city in the county. The population of Somerset was 11,196 as of the 2010 census.
Somerset is situated on Lake Cumberland, which is one of the largest man-made lakes in the United States. The lake provides a variety of recreational activities such as fishing, boating, swimming, and camping. There are also several marinas located around the lake that offer boat rentals and other services.
The city has a rich history that dates back to 1798 when it was founded by William Whitley. It was named after Somerset County in England and has been an important part of Kentucky’s history ever since. During the Civil War, Somerset served as a major supply depot for Confederate forces and was also home to several battles during this time period.
