Salt River is a small unincorporated community located in Hart County, Kentucky, United States. It is situated along the Salt River, which is a tributary of the Green River. The area is known for its rolling hills and lush forests, making it a popular destination for outdoor recreation. The town itself is home to a few hundred people and features a post office, general store, and several churches.

The Salt River area has been inhabited since the early 1800s when settlers began to move into the area. The town was officially established in 1845 and named after the nearby river.
