Shawnee, Kansas is a city located in Johnson County, just west of the Kansas City metropolitan area. It is part of the Kansas City metropolitan area and has a population of about 64,000 people. The city was founded in 1854 and was named after the Shawnee Native American tribe that once inhabited the area.
Shawnee is known for its small-town charm and friendly atmosphere. The city has a variety of parks, trails, and recreational activities to enjoy.
