Whitestown, IN, USA is a small town located in Boone County, Indiana. It is situated just northwest of Indianapolis and is part of the Indianapolis metropolitan area. The population of Whitestown was estimated to be 8,945 in 2019.
Whitestown was founded in 1851 by William White and his family. It was originally known as Whitesville but was later changed to Whitestown in 1871. The town has grown steadily since its founding and now serves as a bedroom community for those who work in nearby Indianapolis.
The town is home to several parks and recreational areas including Whitestown Park, which features a playground, picnic area, basketball court, and walking trails. There are also several golf courses located nearby including the Whitestown Country Club and the Zionsville Golf Course.
The town also has a variety of shops and restaurants including local favorites such as the Whitestown Diner and the Whitestown Pizza Company. There are also several churches located throughout the town including St. John's Lutheran Church and First Baptist Church of Whitestown.
Whitestown is served by two school districts: Zionsville Community Schools and Lebanon Community Schools.
