Evansville, Indiana is a city located in the southwestern corner of the state. It is the third-largest city in Indiana and the largest city in the Tri-State area, which includes parts of Illinois, Kentucky, and Indiana. The city is situated on an oxbow bend of the Ohio River and is known for its vibrant downtown area with a variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues.
The city has a population of over 117,000 people and is home to several universities including University of Evansville, University of Southern Indiana, and Ivy Tech Community College. The economy is largely based on manufacturing and healthcare services. Major employers include Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana, Berry Plastics Corporation, Deaconess Health System, St. Mary's Medical Center, and Accuride Corporation.
