Yorkville, Illinois Description
Yorkville is a city located in Kendall County, Illinois, United States. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area and is approximately 60 miles southwest of downtown Chicago. The population was 16,921 at the 2010 census.
Yorkville is known for its small-town charm and historic downtown area. The city has a variety of shops, restaurants, and businesses that line its main street. There are also several parks and recreational areas in the city, including Yorkville Community Park, which features a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and a fishing pond.
The city also has several schools within its boundaries, including Yorkville High School and Yorkville Middle School. There are also several private schools in the area as well as higher education institutions such as Aurora University and Waubonsee Community College.
Yorkville is home to many festivals throughout the year such as the annual Fox Valley Folk Festival and the Kendall County Fair. The city also hosts an annual Fourth of July parade that draws thousands of people each year.
