Cicero, Illinois Description
Cicero, Illinois is a suburb of Chicago located in Cook County. It is situated just west of the city and has a population of approximately 83,000 people. The town was founded in 1849 and named after the Roman statesman Marcus Tullius Cicero.
The town is known for its diverse population and vibrant culture. It has a large Hispanic population, with many Mexican restaurants and stores throughout the area. There are also many Polish-American businesses in the area, as well as other ethnicities such as African-American, Asian-American, and Middle Eastern.
Cicero is home to several parks and recreational areas, including Morton Park, which features a playground, basketball courts, baseball fields, tennis courts, and picnic areas. The town also has several museums such as the National Museum of Mexican Art and the Polish Museum of America.
The town is served by two major highways: Interstate 55 and Interstate 290. Public transportation is provided by Metra commuter rail lines that run through Cicero to downtown Chicago. The town also has its own public library system with branches throughout the area.
