Post Falls, Idaho Description
Post Falls is a city located in Kootenai County, Idaho, United States. It is situated on the Spokane River, just east of Coeur d'Alene and west of Spokane, Washington. The population was 27,574 at the 2010 census, up from 17,247 in 2000 census.
Post Falls is a rapidly growing community that has seen its population more than double since 2000. It is home to many businesses and industries including manufacturing, retail, healthcare and tourism. The city has a variety of recreational activities available including golf courses, parks and trails for hiking and biking. Post Falls also offers a variety of cultural events throughout the year such as art shows and festivals.
The city is served by two school districts: Post Falls School District #273 and Lakeland Joint School District #272. There are several private schools in the area as well. Post Falls also has several higher education institutions nearby including North Idaho College in Coeur d'Alene and Gonzaga University in Spokane.
Post Falls has a humid continental climate with cold winters and hot summers. Average temperatures range from 25°F (-4°C) in January to 78°F (26°C) in July. The average annual precipitation is 16 inches (41 cm).
Post Falls offers an array of shopping opportunities with several malls and shopping centers located within the city limits as well as numerous restaurants offering a variety of cuisines from around the world. There are also many outdoor activities available such as fishing, boating, camping and skiing at nearby resorts like Silver Mountain Resort or Schweitzer Mountain Resort.
