Kimberly, Idaho Description
Kimberly, Idaho is a small city located in the Magic Valley region of south-central Idaho. It is situated along the Snake River and is part of the Twin Falls metropolitan area. The city has a population of just over 5,000 people and covers an area of 3.3 square miles.
The city was founded in 1883 by William H. Kimberly, who named it after himself. It was originally a farming community but has since grown to become a thriving small city with many businesses and services. The downtown area features several historic buildings, including the old Kimberly Hotel which was built in 1891 and is now listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
The climate in Kimberly is semi-arid with hot summers and cold winters. Average temperatures range from highs of 90 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer to lows of 20 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter months. Precipitation is low throughout the year, averaging around 10 inches annually.
Kimberly offers plenty of outdoor activities for residents and visitors alike, including camping, fishing, hiking, biking, golfing, and more. There are also several parks located within the city limits that offer picnic areas and playgrounds for children to enjoy. The nearby Snake River provides opportunities for boating and other water sports as well as excellent fishing spots for anglers looking to catch bass or trout.
Kimberly also has a vibrant cultural scene with several art galleries, museums, theaters, and music venues offering entertainment throughout the year. The city also hosts several annual festivals such as the Kimberly Days Festival which celebrates its history with parades, carnivals rides, food vendors, live music performances, and more!
