Bondurant, Iowa Description
Bondurant, Iowa is a small city located in Polk County, Iowa. It is situated just east of Des Moines and is part of the Des Moines–West Des Moines Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 4,385 at the 2010 census.
Bondurant was founded in 1881 by John Bondurant, who named it after his father, William Bondurant. The city was incorporated in 1891 and has since grown to become a thriving community with a variety of businesses and services.
The city is home to several parks and recreational areas including the Bondurant Community Park, which features a playground, picnic area, walking trails, and a pond for fishing. There are also several golf courses in the area including the Bondurant Golf Course and the Prairie Meadows Golf Course.
The city also has several restaurants and shops including a grocery store, hardware store, pharmacy, bank, gas station, post office, library and more. There are also several churches located in Bondurant as well as schools for both elementary and secondary education.
Bondurant is known for its annual Fourth of July celebration which includes fireworks displays and other festivities throughout the day. The city also hosts an annual Fall Festival which includes carnival rides, food vendors and live music performances.
