Altoona, Iowa is a small city located in the Des Moines metropolitan area. It is situated in Polk County and has a population of approximately 15,000 people. The city is known for its small-town charm and friendly atmosphere.
The city was founded in 1869 and was named after the Italian city of Altoona. It was originally a railroad town, but has since grown to become a thriving community with many businesses and attractions. The downtown area features several restaurants, shops, and other businesses that cater to both locals and visitors alike.
