Waleska, Georgia is a small town located in Cherokee County, about an hour north of Atlanta. It is situated in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains and is surrounded by lush forests and rolling hills. The town has a population of around 2,000 people and is known for its rural charm and friendly atmosphere.
The town was founded in 1832 by Welsh settlers who named it after their homeland. Waleska has a rich history that includes being the site of a Civil War battle and being home to several prominent figures such as former Georgia Governor Zell Miller.
Today, Waleska is home to Reinhardt University, which was founded in 1883 as a private college for women.
