Sharpsburg, Georgia is a small town located in Coweta County, about 40 miles southwest of Atlanta. It has a population of around 1,400 people and is known for its historic downtown area. The town was founded in 1825 and named after General Thomas Sharp, who fought in the Battle of Sharpsburg during the Civil War.
The town is home to several historic sites, including the Sharpsburg Historic District which includes many buildings from the 19th century. There are also several churches in the area, including the First Baptist Church of Sharpsburg which was built in 1845.
