Oakwood, Georgia is a small city located in Hall County, about 50 miles northeast of Atlanta. It is part of the Gainesville, Georgia Metropolitan Statistical Area and has a population of around 3,000 people. The city was founded in 1877 and was named after the abundance of oak trees in the area.
