Norcross, Georgia Description
Norcross is a city located in Gwinnett County, Georgia, United States. It is a suburb of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. As of the 2010 census, the population was 9,116. The city is home to several historic sites and attractions, including the Norcross Historic District and Thrasher Park.
Norcross is known for its vibrant downtown area with a variety of shops and restaurants. The city also has several parks and recreational facilities, including Pinckneyville Park, which features a playground, walking trails, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a swimming pool. The city also hosts several annual events such as the Norcross Art Festival and the Norcross Summer Concert Series.
The city has an excellent school system with several public schools in the area as well as private schools such as Greater Atlanta Christian School and Wesleyan School. There are also several higher education institutions nearby such as Georgia State University-Perimeter College and Gwinnett Technical College.
Norcross is conveniently located near major highways such as I-85 and I-285 making it easy to access other parts of metro Atlanta. The city also has an extensive public transportation system with bus routes throughout the city as well as MARTA rail service to downtown Atlanta.
