Monroe, GA is a small city located in Walton County, Georgia. It is situated about 40 miles east of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The city has a population of around 13,000 people and covers an area of 8.7 square miles.
The city was founded in 1818 and named after James Monroe, the fifth President of the United States. It was originally a farming community but has since grown into a thriving city with many businesses and industries. The downtown area features historic buildings, shops, restaurants, and other attractions.
The climate in Monroe is mild with hot summers and cool winters. The average temperature in the summer months is around 80 degrees Fahrenheit while the winter months average around 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
