Mableton, Georgia Description
Mableton is a city located in Cobb County, Georgia, United States. It is an unincorporated area and census-designated place (CDP) with a population of 37,115 as of the 2010 census. Mableton is located just 15 miles northwest of downtown Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area.
The city was founded in 1843 by Robert Mable, who named it after his wife Martha Mable. The town was incorporated in 1912 and has since grown to become one of the largest cities in Cobb County.
Mableton offers a variety of amenities for its residents including parks, shopping centers, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The city also has several public schools as well as private schools for students from kindergarten through 12th grade.
The city's main attractions include the Mable House Arts Center which features art galleries, theater performances, and educational programs; Sweetwater Creek State Park which offers hiking trails and fishing opportunities; Six Flags Over Georgia amusement park; and Silver Comet Trail which is a popular biking trail that runs through Mableton.
Mableton also has several annual events such as the Taste of Mableton food festival in May; the Fourth of July fireworks show; and the Mableton Day Festival in October which features live music, food vendors, carnival rides, and more.
