Hinesville, Georgia is a small city located in Liberty County, Georgia. It is the county seat of Liberty County and is part of the Hinesville-Fort Stewart metropolitan statistical area. The city has a population of approximately 33,000 people and covers an area of about 16 square miles.
Hinesville is known for its rich history and culture. It was founded in 1837 by Major Duncan Lamont Clinch and named after his father-in-law, Charles Hines. The city was an important military base during the Civil War and served as a major supply depot for Confederate forces. Today, it is home to Fort Stewart, one of the largest military bases in the United States.
The city has a humid subtropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. Average temperatures range from around 50°F in winter to around 90°F in summer. Rainfall averages around 50 inches per year with most occurring during the summer months.
