Guyton, Georgia Description
Guyton, Georgia is a small town located in Effingham County, about 20 miles northwest of Savannah. It is a rural community with a population of just over 2,000 people. The town was founded in 1883 and named after the Guyton family who were among the first settlers in the area.
The town has a quaint downtown area with several local businesses including restaurants, shops, and services. There are also several churches in the area as well as a library and post office. Guyton is home to several parks and recreational areas including Guyton Park which features a playground, picnic tables, and walking trails.
The climate in Guyton is mild with hot summers and cool winters. The average temperature ranges from the mid-50s to mid-80s throughout the year. Rainfall is abundant throughout the year with an average of over 50 inches per year.
Guyton is known for its friendly atmosphere and welcoming residents who take pride in their community. It is also home to many festivals throughout the year such as the annual Watermelon Festival which celebrates local farmers and their produce.
