Gainesville, Georgia is a city located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in Hall County. It is the county seat and largest city in Hall County, with a population of around 38,000 people. Gainesville is known as the “Poultry Capital of the World” due to its large poultry industry. The city is also home to several universities and colleges, including Brenau University, Lanier Technical College, and the University of North Georgia.

Gainesville has a rich history that dates back to 1821 when it was founded as Mule Camp Springs. The city was renamed Gainesville in 1821 after General Edmund P. Gaines who fought in the War of 1812. In 1868, Gainesville was incorporated as a town and later became a city in 1906.
