Forest Park, Georgia Description
Forest Park is a city located in Clayton County, Georgia, United States. It is located approximately nine miles south of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. The population was 18,468 at the 2010 census.
Forest Park is home to many businesses and industries, including the Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, which is located just outside the city limits. The city also has a variety of parks and recreational facilities, including the Clayton County International Park, which features a lake with fishing and boating opportunities.
The city has a number of historic sites, including the Forest Park Historic District, which includes several homes built in the early 20th century. The district was added to the National Register of Historic Places in 1985. Other historic sites include the Forest Park Depot Museum and the Old Town Hall Museum.
The city also has several shopping centers and restaurants that offer a variety of dining options. There are also several churches in Forest Park that serve its residents.
