Fayetteville, Georgia Description
Fayetteville, Georgia is a small city located in the south-central part of the state, about 25 miles south of Atlanta. It is the county seat of Fayette County and has a population of around 16,000 people. The city was founded in 1823 and named after General Lafayette, who visited the area during his tour of America in 1825.
Fayetteville is known for its historic downtown area, which features many buildings from the 19th century.
