Ellijay, Georgia is a small town located in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains in Gilmer County. It is known as the “Apple Capital of Georgia” due to its abundance of apple orchards and annual Apple Festival. The town has a population of 1,619 people and is situated along the Ellijay River.
The downtown area of Ellijay is filled with quaint shops, restaurants, and galleries. There are also several historic sites in the area such as the Old Courthouse Square and the Gilmer County Historical Society Museum. The town also boasts a variety of outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, camping, kayaking, and tubing on the nearby rivers.
