Decatur, Georgia is a vibrant city located in the heart of DeKalb County. It is just east of Atlanta and is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area. Decatur has a population of over 20,000 people and is known for its diverse culture, excellent schools, and thriving economy.

The city was founded in 1823 and named after Stephen Decatur, a naval hero from the War of 1812. Decatur has grown to become an important center for business and industry in the region. The city is home to several large companies such as Emory University, Dekalb Medical Center, and Georgia State University.

Decatur offers a variety of attractions for visitors to enjoy. The downtown area features historic buildings, unique shops, restaurants, galleries, and entertainment venues.
