Dacula, Georgia Description
Dacula, Georgia is a small city located in Gwinnett County, about 35 miles northeast of Atlanta. It is part of the Atlanta metropolitan area and has a population of around 6,000 people.
The city was founded in 1883 and named after the Dacula Creek which runs through the area. The creek was named after a Native American chief who lived in the area. The city has grown steadily over the years and today it is home to many businesses, schools, churches, parks, and other amenities.
The downtown area of Dacula is home to several restaurants, shops, and other businesses. There are also several parks located throughout the city including Dacula Park which features a playground, walking trails, picnic areas, and more. The city also has several golf courses for those looking to get out on the links.
The city is served by two school districts: Gwinnett County Public Schools and Dacula City Schools. Both districts offer excellent educational opportunities for students from kindergarten through 12th grade. There are also several private schools located in the area as well as higher education institutions such as Georgia State University-Gwinnett Campus and Georgia Perimeter College-Gwinnett Campus.
