Wildwood, FL, USA is a small town located in Sumter County, Florida. It is situated about 50 miles northwest of Orlando and is part of the greater metropolitan area known as The Villages. The town has a population of approximately 3,000 people and covers an area of 4.2 square miles.
The town was founded in 1883 by settlers from Georgia and Alabama who were looking for a place to settle down and start their own farms. Since then, Wildwood has grown into a thriving community with many businesses and attractions. The downtown area is home to several restaurants, shops, and other businesses that cater to both locals and visitors alike.
The town also boasts several parks and recreational areas such as the Wildwood Community Park which features a playground, picnic pavilions, basketball courts, tennis courts, baseball fields, and more. There are also several lakes in the area that offer fishing opportunities as well as kayaking and canoeing activities.
Wildwood is also home to several annual events such as the Wildwood Music Festival which takes place every summer at the Wildwood Community Park.
