The Acreage, Florida Description
The Acreage is an unincorporated community located in Palm Beach County, Florida, United States. It is situated between the cities of West Palm Beach and Wellington, and is bordered by the Loxahatchee National Wildlife Refuge to the west. The Acreage is a rural area with many horse farms and nurseries, as well as some residential developments. The area has a population of approximately 30,000 people and covers an area of approximately 25 square miles.
The Acreage has a semi-tropical climate with hot summers and mild winters. Average temperatures range from the mid-70s in winter to the mid-90s in summer. Rainfall averages around 50 inches per year, with most of it occurring during the summer months.
The Acreage is home to several parks and recreational areas including Okeeheelee Park, which offers camping, fishing, boating, biking trails, and more; John Prince Park which features a lake for fishing; and Lion Country Safari which offers safari rides through its wildlife preserve. There are also several golf courses in the area including The Links at Madison Green Golf Course and The Fountains Country Club.
The Acreage also has several shopping centers including The Mall at Wellington Green which features over 150 stores; The Commons at Royal Palm Beach which offers a variety of restaurants; and The Shoppes at Isla Verde which features specialty shops. There are also several restaurants in the area offering everything from fast food to fine dining.
The Acreage is served by two school districts: Palm Beach County School District and Indian Trail Improvement District School District. There are also several private schools in the area including St Joseph's Catholic School and King's Academy Christian School.
Overall, The Acreage is a great place to live for those who enjoy living in a rural setting while still having access to all of the amenities that come with living near larger cities like West Palm Beach or Wellington.
