Parkland, Florida is a city located in the northern part of Broward County, just north of Coral Springs and west of Boca Raton. It is a small city with a population of about 31,000 people. Parkland is known for its lush green spaces and natural beauty. The city has several parks and nature preserves, including Pine Trails Park, which features a playground, picnic areas, and walking trails.
The city is also home to several golf courses and country clubs, such as the Parkland Golf & Country Club and Heron Bay Golf Club. Shopping centers are plentiful in Parkland, with the popular Promenade at Coconut Creek offering an array of stores and restaurants.
Parkland is served by the Broward County Public Schools system. There are several elementary schools in the area as well as Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School, which was the site of a mass shooting in 2018. The city also has two private schools: North Broward Preparatory School and American Heritage School.
Parkland is known for its low crime rate and family-friendly atmosphere. It is considered one of the safest cities in Florida with an overall crime rate that is lower than both state and national averages. The city also boasts excellent public safety services provided by the Parkland Police Department and Fire Rescue Services.
