Ocklawaha, FL is a small town located in Marion County, Florida. It is situated on the banks of the Ocklawaha River and is part of the Ocala Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Ocklawaha was 1,845 at the 2010 census.
The town was founded in 1883 by settlers from Georgia and Alabama who were looking for a place to settle down and start a new life. The town was named after the nearby river, which was named after an Indian tribe that once lived in the area.
