Nokomis is a small town located in Sarasota County, Florida. It is situated on the Gulf of Mexico and is part of the greater Sarasota-Bradenton metropolitan area. The population of Nokomis is approximately 5,000 people.
Nokomis has a rich history that dates back to the late 1800s when it was first settled by homesteaders. The town was named after Chief Nocoma, a Seminole Indian chief who lived in the area during the mid-1800s. Today, Nokomis is known for its beautiful beaches and its laid-back atmosphere.
