Newberry, Florida is a small city located in Alachua County, about 20 miles west of Gainesville. It has a population of around 5,000 people and is known for its historic downtown area. The city was founded in 1885 and named after the Newberry family who were among the first settlers in the area.

There are also several lakes located nearby where visitors can enjoy fishing or boating activities.
