Homestead, FL is a city located in Miami-Dade County, Florida. It is situated at the southernmost tip of the mainland United States, just 25 miles south of downtown Miami. Homestead is known for its rich history and diverse culture, as well as its proximity to Everglades National Park and Biscayne National Park.
The city has a population of approximately 68,000 people and covers an area of about 24 square miles. The climate in Homestead is tropical with hot summers and mild winters. The average temperature ranges from the mid-70s to the mid-80s throughout the year.
Homestead is home to many attractions including the Homestead-Miami Speedway, which hosts NASCAR events each year, as well as several museums and historic sites such as the Seminole Theatre and Robert Is Here Fruit Stand. There are also numerous parks and recreational areas such as Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park, and John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park.
The city has a vibrant economy with many businesses ranging from small local shops to large corporations such as Walmart and Home Depot. There are also several educational institutions in Homestead including Florida International University South Campus, Miami Dade College Homestead Campus, and South Dade Technical College.
