Hialeah, Florida is a city located in Miami-Dade County, just northwest of Miami. It is the sixth largest city in the state and the second largest municipality in the county. Hialeah is known for its large Cuban-American population and its vibrant culture. The city has a tropical climate with hot summers and mild winters.
Hialeah is home to many attractions, including Amelia Earhart Park, which features a lake, picnic areas, and a playground; Hialeah Park Race Track, which hosts horse racing events; and Milander Park, which offers sports fields, tennis courts, and an aquatic center. The city also has several shopping centers and malls such as Westland Mall and Hialeah Market Place.
The city is served by Miami International Airport as well as several major highways including I-75, I-95, US 27, SR 826 (Palmetto Expressway), SR 836 (Dolphin Expressway), SR 924 (Gratigny Parkway), SR 934 (Okeechobee Road), SR 953 (Red Road) and SR 112 (Airport Expressway). Public transportation is provided by Miami-Dade Transit's Metrobus system.
Hialeah has a diverse economy with many industries such as manufacturing, retail trade, healthcare services, finance and insurance services. The city also has several educational institutions such as Florida National University and St. Thomas University.
