Hastings is a small town located in St. Johns County, Florida. It is situated on the banks of the St. Johns River, just south of Jacksonville and north of St. Augustine. The town has a population of approximately 2,500 people and is known for its rural charm and historic buildings.

The town was founded in 1884 by William B. Hastings, who named it after his father-in-law, John B. Hastings. The town was originally a farming community and was home to many citrus groves and vegetable farms. Hastings has a rich history that dates back to the early 1800s when it was part of Spanish Florida. The town has several historic sites including the Old Hastings Cemetery, which dates back to 1820; the Old Town Hall, which was built in 1885; and the Old Post Office, which was built in 1895.

The town also features several parks including the Hastings Riverfront Park, which offers stunning views of the St Johns River; the Hastings Community Park with its playgrounds and picnic areas; and the historic Fort Mose State Park with its reconstructed fort from 1738.
