Davenport, FL is a small city located in Polk County, Florida. It is situated between Orlando and Tampa, making it an ideal location for those who want to be close to the attractions of both cities. The population of Davenport is approximately 4,000 people and the city covers an area of 8.2 square miles.
The city has a rich history that dates back to the late 1800s when it was first settled by pioneers from Kentucky and Tennessee. The town was named after James Davenport, a local landowner who donated land for the construction of a railroad line in 1884.
Davenport is known for its beautiful natural scenery and outdoor activities such as fishing, boating, camping, hiking, and bird watching. There are several parks in the area including Lake Marion Creek Park which offers picnic areas and playgrounds as well as access to Lake Marion Creek.
