Clewiston, FL, USA is a small city located in the heart of Hendry County in South Florida. It is situated on the banks of Lake Okeechobee and is known as the "Sweetest Town in America" due to its large sugar cane industry. The city has a population of around 7,000 people and covers an area of about 4.5 square miles.
The city was founded in 1925 by Captain Francis A. Hendry and named after his daughter, Clewis. It was originally a fishing village but soon became an agricultural center due to its proximity to Lake Okeechobee and the fertile soil surrounding it. The main crops grown here are sugar cane, corn, beans, tomatoes, and citrus fruits.
