Citrus Springs, Florida Description
Citrus Springs is a census-designated place located in Citrus County, Florida. It is situated in the heart of Central Florida, approximately 20 miles north of the city of Ocala and about 70 miles northwest of Orlando. The community was established in 1970 and has since grown to become a vibrant and diverse community with a population of over 8,000 people.
The town is known for its natural beauty, with rolling hills, lush green forests, and crystal clear springs. There are numerous parks and recreational areas throughout the town that offer plenty of outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, fishing, camping, kayaking, canoeing, and more. The Withlacoochee State Trail runs through Citrus Springs and provides an excellent opportunity for biking or walking along its scenic route.
Citrus Springs also offers plenty of shopping opportunities with several local stores as well as larger chain stores like Walmart and Publix Supermarket. There are also several restaurants in town that serve up delicious cuisine from all around the world.
The town is served by two public schools: Citrus Springs Elementary School and Citrus Springs Middle School. The schools offer a variety of educational programs to meet the needs of all students from kindergarten through eighth grade. In addition to these schools there are also several private schools in the area that provide quality education for students from pre-kindergarten through high school.
