Cantonment is a small town located in Escambia County, Florida. It is situated just north of Pensacola and is part of the Pensacola-Ferry Pass-Brent Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population of Cantonment was estimated to be around 24,000 in 2019.

The town was founded in 1821 as a military outpost for the United States Army during the Seminole Wars. It was named after General Andrew Jackson's camp at St. Marks, Florida, which was called "Cantonment St. Marks". The town grew slowly over the years and eventually became an incorporated municipality in 1925.

Today, Cantonment is a quiet residential community with a strong sense of community pride and spirit. The town has several parks and recreational facilities including the Cantonment Community Park, which features a playground, picnic areas, walking trails, and sports fields; the Escambia River Park; and the Blackwater Heritage Trail State Park. There are also several golf courses in the area including Perdido Bay Golf Club and Lost Key Golf Club.

The economy of Cantonment is largely based on retail trade, health care services, manufacturing, construction, and educational services. Major employers include Navy Federal Credit Union, West Florida Hospital, Gulf Power Company, International Paper Company, and Wal-Mart Stores Incorporated.
