Arcadia, Florida Description
Arcadia, FL is a small city located in DeSoto County, Florida. It is situated about 50 miles southeast of Tampa and is part of the Tampa Bay Area. The city has a population of approximately 7,000 people and covers an area of 4.2 square miles.
Arcadia is known for its historic downtown district which features many buildings from the late 19th century and early 20th century. The downtown area includes several restaurants, shops, and other businesses as well as a few historic sites such as the Arcadia Opera House and the Arcadia Historic District.
The city also has several parks and recreational areas including the Peace River Park which offers camping, fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and other outdoor activities. There are also several golf courses in the area including the Arcadia Municipal Golf Course which was designed by legendary golfer Arnold Palmer.
Arcadia is home to several annual events such as the DeSoto County Fair which takes place every April and features rides, games, food vendors, live music, and more. The city also hosts an annual rodeo in October that attracts thousands of visitors each year.
