Wheat Ridge, Colorado is a small city located in the Denver metropolitan area. It is situated just west of Denver and is bordered by Arvada to the north, Lakewood to the east, and Edgewater to the south. The city has a population of approximately 32,000 people and covers an area of 6.5 square miles.

Wheat Ridge was founded in 1870 as a farming community and was named after the wheat fields that surrounded it. Today, it is still known for its agricultural roots and is home to many farms and nurseries. The city also has a vibrant business district with many restaurants, shops, and other businesses.

The climate in Wheat Ridge is mild with hot summers and cold winters. Average temperatures range from highs of around 85 degrees Fahrenheit in the summer months to lows of around 20 degrees Fahrenheit in the winter months. Precipitation levels are moderate throughout the year with an average annual rainfall of about 18 inches.

The city offers plenty of recreational activities for residents and visitors alike. There are several parks located throughout Wheat Ridge including Anderson Park which features a playground, picnic areas, basketball courts, tennis courts, and more. Additionally, there are several golf courses located nearby as well as numerous trails for hiking or biking.

Wheat Ridge also has a strong sense of community with many events held throughout the year such as farmers markets, art festivals, concerts in the park, holiday celebrations, parades, and more. The city also hosts an annual 4th of July celebration which includes fireworks displays over Anderson Park lake.
