Montrose, Colorado is a small city located in the western part of the state. It is situated in the Uncompahgre Valley, at an elevation of 5,759 feet above sea level. The city has a population of around 19,000 people and covers an area of 8.2 square miles.
Montrose is known for its mild climate and stunning views of the San Juan Mountains to the west and the Grand Mesa to the east. The city is home to several parks and recreational areas, including Black Canyon National Park, Ute Indian Museum State Park, and Ridgway State Park.
