Florissant, Colorado is a small town located in Teller County, Colorado. It is situated at the base of Pikes Peak and is surrounded by the Rocky Mountains. The town has a population of around 500 people and is known for its small-town charm and friendly atmosphere.
The town was founded in 1872 by gold miners who were looking to strike it rich in the area. Although they didn't find much gold, they did find plenty of coal which was used to power the local mines and mills. This coal mining industry helped to shape Florissant into what it is today.
