Evans, Colorado Description
Evans, Colorado is a small city located in Weld County, just north of Greeley. It is part of the Greeley Metropolitan Statistical Area and has a population of about 20,000 people. The city was founded in 1870 and named after John Evans, the second territorial governor of Colorado.
The city is known for its small-town charm and friendly atmosphere. It has a variety of parks and recreational areas, including Riverside Park, which features a playground, picnic area, and walking trails along the banks of the South Platte River. There are also several golf courses in the area, as well as an ice rink and bowling alley.
The downtown area is home to many unique shops and restaurants that offer a variety of cuisines from around the world. There are also several art galleries and museums that showcase local artwork. The city also hosts several annual events such as the Evans Summer Festival and the Evans Fall Festival.
Evans is served by two school districts: Greeley-Evans School District 6 and Weld RE-4 School District. The University of Northern Colorado is located nearby in Greeley, providing higher education opportunities for residents of Evans. The city also has easy access to Denver International Airport via I-76 or US Highway 34.
