Crested Butte, Colorado is a small mountain town located in the Gunnison Valley of the Rocky Mountains. It is known for its stunning views of the surrounding mountains and its vibrant outdoor lifestyle. The town is situated at an elevation of 8,885 feet and is surrounded by peaks that reach up to 12,000 feet.
The town itself has a population of just over 1,500 people and is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and galleries. The main street runs through the center of town and features many historic buildings that have been preserved since the town’s founding in 1880. There are also several parks throughout the area that offer plenty of opportunities for outdoor recreation such as hiking, biking, fishing, camping, and more.
Crested Butte is also known for its world-class skiing and snowboarding. The ski resort offers over 1,500 acres of terrain with something for everyone from beginner to expert skiers and riders. In addition to skiing and snowboarding there are also plenty of other winter activities such as snowshoeing, ice skating, sledding, tubing, snowmobiling, and more.
In summer months Crested Butte transforms into an outdoor paradise with activities such as hiking trails through wildflower meadows or along riverside paths; mountain biking on hundreds of miles of trails; fly fishing in pristine streams; horseback riding; rafting down roaring rivers; or simply relaxing in one of the many hot springs nearby.
