Vacaville, California is a city located in the northern part of the San Francisco Bay Area. It is situated between Sacramento and San Francisco, and is part of Solano County. Vacaville has a population of approximately 100,000 people and covers an area of 28 square miles.
The city was founded in 1851 by William McDaniel and named after his hometown in Spain. Vacaville has a rich history that includes being home to the first California State Fair in 1856, as well as being the site of several battles during the Civil War.
Today, Vacaville is known for its vibrant downtown area with its many shops, restaurants, and entertainment venues. The city also boasts several parks and trails for outdoor recreation, including Lagoon Valley Park which offers hiking trails, fishing ponds, and picnic areas.
