Santee, California Description
Santee is a city located in San Diego County, California, United States. It is situated just east of the city of San Diego and is part of the East County region. Santee has a population of approximately 56,000 people and covers an area of about 18 square miles.
The city was founded in 1880 by George A. Cowles and named after Milton Santee, a local rancher who owned much of the land in the area. The city has grown steadily since then and now boasts a vibrant economy with many businesses and industries.
Santee is known for its outdoor recreation opportunities, including hiking trails, golf courses, lakes, parks, and more. The city also has several shopping centers and malls as well as numerous restaurants and bars. There are also several schools in the area including Grossmont College and Cuyamaca College.
