Santa Rosa is a city located in Sonoma County, California, United States. It is the county seat of Sonoma County and the fifth largest city in the San Francisco Bay Area. Santa Rosa has a population of approximately 175,000 people and is located about 50 miles north of San Francisco.
Santa Rosa is known for its mild Mediterranean climate, with warm summers and cool winters. The city is surrounded by vineyards and wineries, making it a popular destination for wine lovers. The downtown area features many historic buildings, including the old courthouse and Carnegie Library.
