Salton, California is a small unincorporated community located in Imperial County, California. It is situated on the northern shore of the Salton Sea, which is a large saline lake that was created in 1905 when the Colorado River breached an irrigation canal. The town has a population of around 1,000 people and is home to many agricultural workers who work in the surrounding fields.

The area around Salton is mostly desert and has a hot climate with temperatures reaching up to 120 degrees Fahrenheit during the summer months.
