Sacramento is the capital of California and the sixth-largest city in the state. Located at the confluence of the Sacramento and American Rivers, it is situated in Northern California's Central Valley, approximately 90 miles northeast of San Francisco. The city has a population of over 500,000 people and is known for its diverse culture, vibrant arts scene, and outdoor activities.
Sacramento is home to a variety of attractions, including Old Sacramento State Historic Park, which features restored buildings from the Gold Rush era; Sutter’s Fort State Historic Park; and the Crocker Art Museum. The city also boasts several professional sports teams, including the NBA's Sacramento Kings and minor league baseball's Sacramento River Cats.
The climate in Sacramento is generally mild year-round with hot summers and cool winters. Average temperatures range from lows in the mid-30s during winter months to highs in the mid-90s during summer months. Rainfall averages around 20 inches per year with most precipitation occurring between November and March.
